A lot of people, especially those who are close to her said that she will be dearly missed, and I want to extend my sincere condolences to her family and friends. This is something that is indeed untimely and so much shocking and at the same time very disappointing.
I feel strongly about this because I am also a Bicolana. And I should know that going to the province is such a huge traumatic experience for me, more to those who are not so used to ride in lightning speed of vehicles on national road. I am not exaggerating.
Whenever I spend my vacation there, I always fear for my life whenever I need to ride public transportation. Buses and jeepneys are just too fast to hit the road and tires just seem to touch the surface when the driver step on the brakes. I even remembered the stories of my relatives regarding a lot of hit and run incidents in our area in Bato, Camarines Sur.Victims from little kids to poor grannies, those accidents are just so uncontrollable. I even almost lost an Aunt with a hit and run incident before.
And with that said, I really feel bad that lives were lost again, specifically this Gersbach Road Accident not because of hit and run, but still because of some irresponsible drivers hitting the national road. The speed that is unnecessary together with the lack of discipline as a driver must be the likely factors that caused this tragedy. How many more lives are going to be taken by these senseless incidents?
Again, my sincerest sympathy to Miss. Gersbach’s family.
